The Noise and Vibration Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance transposes the EC Occupational Health and Safety Directive on noise and vibration into German law. The aim is to protect employees from health hazards in the workplace.

The key point of this ordinance is the risk assessment: employers are obliged to determine, evaluate and document the risks from noise exposure at their workplaces, regardless of the number of employees in the company.
